We’re AKIMBO. We make clothes in Los Angeles and sell them from Salt Lake City. This hoodie is one of ours, and here’s what you should know before you buy it.

What This Hoodie Actually Is

450 GSM brushed cotton fleece. Zip-up. Made in LA.

That’s the short version. The longer version is that it feels heavy when you pick it up. Not stiff. Soft inside. You notice the weight right away.

Sun Faded Black isn’t regular black. It looks like it’s been washed a hundred times already. Kind of grey in spots. Kind of soft everywhere. The wash process makes every piece a little different. So if you and your friend both buy one, they won’t look the same. That’s just how it goes.

The distressed zip front. Some people love it. Some don’t. I think it makes the hoodie.

About AKIMBO Clothing

We started in 2019 selling vintage. Then we got tired of selling other people’s stuff and started making our own. Now we do hoodies, sweatpants, jeans, sweaters, T-shirts. The whole thing.

How To Wear It

Faded black goes with almost everything. That’s why we chose it.

With AKIMBO jeans. Straight fit. Clean wash. Faded hoodie on top, solid jeans on the bottom. This combo works. I wear it a lot.

With AKIMBO sweatpants. Keep them plain. Don’t wear faded sweatpants with a faded hoodie. Trust me. It looks like you got dressed in the dark.

Underneath? An AKIMBO T-shirt. Zip it halfway. Let the shirt show. If it’s cold, throw an AKIMBO sweater or jacket on top.

That’s it. You don’t need to overthink this.

Washing Instructions (Please Read)

I’ve seen people destroy good hoodies. Don’t be that person.

Before washing:
Zip it up. Tie the strings or tuck them in. Turn it inside out.

Water:
Cold. Not warm. Not hot. Cold.

Detergent:
Mild. Color-safe. No bleach. I mean it.

How often:
Every five or six wears. If it smells, wash it. If it doesn’t, hang it up.

Drying:
The air is dry. Shake it out first. Fix the hood shape. Lay it flat or hang it upside down. Upside down because wet hoodies are heavy. Hanging them normally stretches the shoulders out.

Keep it out of direct sun.

If you absolutely have to use a dryer, lowest heat. Check it every few minutes. Don’t walk away.

Ironing:
Inside out. Low heat. Stay away from the zipper and any prints.

Sizing

Boxy fit. Wide shoulders. Shorter body. If you wear a medium normally, this medium will feel roomy. That’s on purpose. Want it tighter? Size down. But honestly, loose looks better with this fabric.

Product Warnings

Each hoodie fades differently. That’s normal. Not a defect.

Distressed fabric can snag. Watch out for rough surfaces, velcro, open zippers.

Sensitive skin? Wash it before you wear it. Some people react to fabric finishes.

No bleach. No high heat. No ironing directly on prints or zippers.

FAQs

Will the AKIMBO “WATCH-PEEKER” hoodie shrink?

Cold wash, air dry. Do that and it won’t shrink much. Hot dryer? Yeah, it’ll shrink.

Will the black fade more over time?

It’s supposed to look faded. Some change is normal. Cold water and shade drying slows it down.

What season is this for?

Spring and fall, it’s perfect alone. Winter, layer it. Summer, AC only probably.

Is every hoodie the same?

No. The wash makes each one different. Yours won’t match anyone else’s exactly.
